We are a family-run ranch headquartered
at Big Piney, Wyoming, between the Wind River and Wyoming mountain ranges.
We raise high quality Salers/Angus cross cattle on 150 square miles of
mountains and valleys in the beautiful Upper Green River Basin of southwest
Wyoming.
We have spent years building our herd to produce the highest quality, most flavorful lean beef selling to the specialty high-end restaurant market. Now we are offering our high-quality beef directly to families.

"To create a healthy, high quality eating experience, the challenge is to produce enough marbling to enhance flavor and tenderness and at the same time minimize trim and seam fat. Barney Ranches Western Wyoming Beef has met this challenge with our special genetics program using the Salers breed, a breed of cherry red cattle imported from the Salers District of France. This breed is characterized by a moderate number of small fat cells and minimal seam fat. When crossed with black angus, these cattle produce beef with superb eating quality and minimum fat." -- Bill Barney
